The Murder of Junko Furuta
Possibly the most gruesome murder on this list just for the sheer torture this poor 16 year old girl went through. She was kidnapped by a group of boys after she refused to date one of the boys. She was tortured for 44 days before eventually dying. Below is some of the abuse she went through:
Believed to have been raped over 500 times by 100 different men that the boy with Yakuza connections invited round.
It is also suggested these men urinated on her repeatedly.
She was frequently burned on her sexual organs with cigarettes
Had weights dropped on her breaking bones
Had her left nipple ripped off
Forced to sleep outside in severe cold.
Badly beaten constantly.
Lost all bowel control due to the amount of objects which had been inserted.
Eventually she succumbed to her injuries and was placed in a barrel filled with concrete before being disposed of.
The Greyhound Bus Murder
Vince Li boarded a bus and sat next to Tim Mclean who was sleeping at the time. He then pulled out a larger hunting knife repeatedly stabbing Mclean over 60 times. Once he was dead Li began to dismember his body right there in the bus whilst passengers fled from the bus. Eventually Li was locked inside the bus alone where he continued the dismemberment and even held the head up for disgusted passengers to see. He then began consuming some of Mcleans flesh. The police eventually arrived and arrested him, he was found later to be suffering from schizophrenia.
Idaho Quadruple Murders
Moving onto a more recent attack occurring in the early hours of November 13 2022. Bryan Kohberger broke into the house of college students and brutally stabbed to death 4 friends living there at the time. He snuck up on his first victims while they were sleeping and plunged the knife into them, giving them no chance. Later in the attack his victims tried to fight back however he overpowered and killed them eventually fleeing the scene.
Black Dahlia (Elizabeth Short)
On 15th January 1947, Elizabeth’s body was found in a park having been completely sliced in two and drained of blood. Her flesh had been cut away at the breasts and thighs, she was also found to have feces in her stomach suggesting she was forced to eat this before she died. She was also found to have had a joker-like smile cut across her face. This case like many others remains unsolved.
Villisca Ax Murders
Next up an unsolved murder that occurred in a quiet street in Villisca Iowa on June 9 1912. In a peaceful white house slept the Moore family. The parents were asleep upstairs with their 4 children plus 2 sisters round for a sleepover asleep downstairs. He butchered everyone as they slept with an ax he found outside the property. It is hard to imagine the depraved mind that could have committed an act on such young children in cold blood.
The Freeway Phantom
Continuing the unsolved theme the phantom abducted, raped and then strangled young girls between the ages of 12-17. He is confirmed to have killed 6 individuals and became increasingly emboldened by the police’s lack of action. He left a note in the pocket of his 5th victim saying ‘Catch me if you can’, which had been written in the victim's handwriting. It was also suggested he kept some of his victims alive for several days before murdering them.
BTK Murderer
Bind.Torture.Kill. The president of his local church, a loving husband and devoted father Dennis Rader was the last person people expected to be finally unearthed as the btk killer in 2005. One of his most brutal murders was on the Otero family. Dennis first strangled the parents to death whilst making the 11 year old and 9 year old children watch. He then took the little girl to the basement and sexually assaulted her before strangling her to death, whilst masturbating as she died. Some of the more sinister pictures which have come out later which Dennis Rader took of himself wearing the victims clothes whilst binding himself up. Obsessed with stranglation and torture this made for a sick combination and ended the lives of 10 people.
Cleveland Torso Murders
A serial killer who was active from 1935-1938 and was responsible for 12 murders however 2 have only ever been identified. The bodies found were always dismembered and taken apart with surgical precision, hence the name. With their favorite method of murder decapitation, body parts began showing up across cleveland. The perpetrator was never caught.
Richard speck
Richard broke in and murdered 8 nursing students on 13th July 1966. He frantically stabbed, strangled and sexually assaulted each of his victims. Drunk and disorganized Richard Speck even left witnesses as he lost count of the number of residents he had tied up. One woman managed to escape the horrific end by hiding under a bed until Richard fled the scene. He was later arrested at hospital after being taken in for trying to commit suicide.
Toy Box Murders
The soundproofed trailer of horrors became known as the toy box after David Ray Parker's arrest. He is suspected to have killed over 50 women however this has never been proven. It is perhaps the sexual assault which took place that is most sickening in this case. Firstly victims would be chained up on a makeshift gynecologist table whilst as recording outlined the exact torture they would endure. David would then abuse his victims using medical equipment and sex toys such as whips and chains. He even went so far as to have a mirror installed above the table so each woman would know exactly what she was enduring. He was eventually caught when one of his victims managed to escape with just a dog collar around her neck.
