On April 3rd Onlyfans model Courtney Clenney stabbed her boyfriend Christian Obumseli but was it self defense or an act of pure anger. We will take a look at the full case and give all the facts. It is important to note before we go any further we will not be forming any opinions rather just giving facts based on the information released.
We begin a short while before the murders with clips taken by Obumseli documenting there explosive relationship. During this clip Courtney can be heard berating Christian with abuse even going as far as to use racial slurs. Obumseli can also be heard apologizing in the background but this does nothing to calm her. This video certainly paints Courtney as the abuser in the relationship.
Moving on now to just 2 months before the murder, we see footage of Courtney attacking Christian in an elevator. This video is quite shocking and portrays Courtney in a negative light. From watching the clip it looks as though Courtney is the aggressor while Obumseli remains passive without fighting back. Clenney later claimed in court that this was in self defense however from watching the clip it could be difficult to believe these claims.
Unfortunately the evidence of abuse doesn’t stop there as we move onto another recording made by Obumseli. She states ‘I actually, literally want to kill you.’ This clip shows premeditation and the idea she had these thoughts beforehand. Again it portrays Courtney as the abuser.
Now we are just two days before the murder in which we see bodycam footage as police showed up at the couple's apartment on a domestic violence call. Courtney states in this that she wants a restraining order against him because he is ‘stalking’ her and ‘abusive’ towards her. In the background building security can be seen nodding their heads and backing up her claims. The bodycam footage is quite shocking and clearly shows how toxic this relationship really was. This certainly seems genuine and could have been her last plea for help.
The night of April 3rd 2022 starts with a frantic call to 911 by Courtney saying that her boyfriend has been stabbed. In the background you can also hear Christian saying ‘I’m going to die, I can’t feel my arm.’ The footage is raw and highlights the amount of emotions. Courtney can be heard apologizing for what she has done, almost admitting guilt here.
Obumseli is rushed to hospital however he does not survive his injuries.
Skipping forwards slightly we can see Courtney in the interrogation room for the first time. Courtney does not yet know that Christian is dead and seems very relaxed. One of her first comments is ‘I cannot believe the way my day went.’ This highlights her narcissistic personality as she is focusing on herself rather than her partner she ‘loves’ who is in a potentially critical danger. A body language expert also commented that ‘this is all about her’ when analyzing the interview.
The narcissism also creeps in again as she casually apologies for having so much blood on her clothes. It is almost as if she is joking with detectives but clearly at this point she feel that she has gotten away with it. It also highlights the importance she places on appearance which isn’t surprising given she is a model.
Courntey then gives her version of events and continues to justify her actions were in self defense. She describes how he was physically and emotionally abusive, choking her on multiple occasions. A quote from the Obumseli family lawyer here attempts to dismiss her claims she was abused. ‘If there was any evidence to support that he was abusive towards her, he would have been hauled off to jail so fast it’ll make your head spin’
Courtney then describes how after another argument she believed Christian would choke her again and maybe even kill her if he took it too far. She talked about seeing the whites in his eyes grow as he came at her. She therefore grabbed the knife and ‘threw it.’ The claims that Courtney threw the knife have been debunked by the autopsy which states the knife used would never make such a deep puncture wound if it was thrown.
Next up we see Courtney learning for the first time since stabbing him. It is quite an emotional reaction and one I believe to be genuine. However her first thought is ‘can I have a hug.’ which suggests again she is only thinking of herself. I think Courntey actually believed her boyfriend would be fine however this was far from the case. The clip makes for interesting viewing
Courtney is then released after this interview however her freedom doesn’t last long as she is then arrested on 2nd degree murder four months after the murder. She is currently being held without bond and below is her reaction to being denied this. Courtney seems so innocent as she listens however all evidence points to her being someone totally different. This could be explained by the fact people stated ‘she became a different person when she drank.’ Did alcohol play a part or was this just an abusive/toxic relationship?
Overall this is a sad case as a young life has been lost. It has been a difficult one to form an opinion on and therefore have tried to lay out the facts from both sides of the story. At the end of the day though a man is dead and the killer should face some form of punishment.
